Rouen is a fascinating city year-round, with lots of things to do in both summer and winter. However, most visitors arrive between May and September when the weather is the most reliable, colder than other parts of France, but still mild.

And of course, the season that brings the city most afflux in visitors to Rouen is summer. Things are busier in high season, but despite the crowds, summer in Rouen is quite lovely because much of everything moves outdoors.

Rouen has warm summers and rather chilly winters, being situated in Northern France. Thus the coldest months are January and December, with average winter temperatures of about 3ºC. Generally, though, in usual year conditions, the city is welcoming. The warmest months are August and July, and the average summer temperature in Rouen is 17ºC.
