Attractions
Rouen is known for its Notre Dame cathedral, with its Tour de Beurre (butter tower), but other famous structures are also religious monuments: Church of Saint Maclou, Church of Saint Ouen and the Church of Jeanne d’Arc.
- Rouen Cathedral
Info: This 13th century Gothic cathedral is the seat of the Archbishop of Rouen. It contains a tomb of Richard the Lionheart with his heart. At 151 meters, it was the highest building in the world between 1876 and 1880. The Rouen Cathedral was the subject for a series of paintings by Claude Monet.
Open hours: Monday – Saturday 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.; Sundays until 6 p.m. (closed during Mass and bank holidays)

Info: It is housed in the former Hôtel d’Hocqueville and it contains a rich collection of ceramics.
